So over the last few weeks I’ve been full immersed in Mesh Body Land, trialling some new mesh bodies and writing reviews for both mesh bodies and heads – and of these bodies is the new recently updated Natural Beauty Mesh Body by Tonic.

Firestorm, camping and my thoughts on Bloggers ♥
As a blogger, I think the general perception of the sl public is ‘they do it to get free stuff.’ I felt like addressing this generalisation today, I don’t know why, it’s random day! Part of being a blogger is indeed recieving ‘review copies’ of items (ie. the ‘free’ stuff everyone speaks of) but the work that bloggers put in to the pictures they create… well, it justifies the ‘free’ part.
So let’s look at that perception. The facts are quite simple – a good blogger can take days to create an image that they’re happy with, in fact the one above took me 3 days of just setting up, planning an outfit and buying (yes, BUYING) the outfit I’m wearing! I like my photos to create a story, to have their own narrative (albeit, that narrative may be only known to me at times haha). The jeans I bought at TMD – and I bought them because I have a very simple rule. I always buy creativity. These jeans are mesh body fitmesh (for Maitreya and Slink), they are unisex and the best part… they come with an applier HUD for the body shadows. Yep, I’m not joking. The artist (being SPIRIT) had the foresight to create torn mesh, knowing how unrealistic ‘torn’ mesh can look at times… and addressed that issue by including system, Slink and Maitreya shadows as tattoos. How awesome is that? How could you not buy that? So simply, I did!
Now let’s talk about the top – this tank is from Miss Chelsea (at FaMESHed) and this I purchased because simply, I was glad to finally see a midriff tank that was a bit on the ‘baggier’ side. That was the first one I’ve seen, so bang – bought it! (In case you’re wondering, I do work in SL to support my shopping… uh… habits) haha. Now this isn’t to say that I don’t try my best to become a blogger for designers who’s work I respect – because in that way, it’s an honour to be part of their team and share their vision. Case and point, Rebel Hope (who’s work I love) is a recent sponsor of my blog. Why? Have you SEEN THESE SHOES?! Quite possibly the most detailed sandals I have ever seen, right down to the jewellery….. This is an un-edited, un photoshopped picture in midday lighting, just to show you how awesome they are on their own…
I could go on and on but the point to my rambling is this – when you read a blog, or comment on a blog… don’t assume that the blogger is a ‘salesperson’ or worse yet, a person who’s just after ‘free stuff’. Yes, they exist, but let’s pay them no mind – quality bloggers do what they do for the love of it, the excitement of the creativity of others, and in my case especially, the want to share knowledge with others. Leaving mean comments, or treating all bloggers badly because of perceptions… well it’s just not nice, and it can hurt (I’m not talking about me, but a friend).
So in summary, if you can’t say anything nice…. well say nothing! 😉 ♥ Okay on to another topic – who’s using the new Firestorm? I am (obviously) and all other issues aside, I have had a blast playing with the new Snapshot filters!! There is seriously a newspaper one, making your image look like it’s from a newspaper. Okay so, I’m back after my *cough* week off… which turned out to be more of a review-writing week than a restful week of nothingness, but oh well, maybe next time 😉
